About Quitéria Premium
Quitéria Premium is a small cigar-manufacturing cooperative based in the Recôncavo Baiano, a coastal area surrounding the Bay of All Saints in Bahia, Brazil. Founded by former Suerdieck master rollers and descendants of early European immigrants who helped establish tobacco cultivation in the region, we preserve four generations of artisanal cigar craftsmanship.
Our production is built for partners: importers, distributors, and private-label projects seeking authentic Brazilian Mata Fina character with consistent construction and aging standards.
Maria Quitéria
Our name honors Maria Quitéria, the Patron Saint of the Brazilian Army—celebrated for her courage during Brazil’s independence. We translate her legacy into a cigar that balances strength and refinement, without losing the finesse and femininity of a truly unique Brazilian icon.

Signature profile: aromatic, balanced, and expressive—made to evolve slowly through the final third.

Tobacco in the Recôncavo is cultivated on small farms and harvested through a short-stalk, whole-plant cut. Leaves are naturally dried for about 30 days, then stacked for fermentation under controlled temperature and humidity. The ideal curing period is up to 24 months before classification for filler, binder, or wrapper.
Quitéria Premium blend (long filler):
Filler: 70% Mata Fina + 30% Mata Norte
Binder: Mata Fina
Wrapper: CuBra (Brazilian-grown Sumatra seed)
The Terroir: Mata Fina
Aging Standards

After rolling, cigars rest to allow the tobaccos to “marry” before release. Recommended maturation is at 18–22°C and 55–65% humidity, for a minimum of 40 days (and longer for selected lots).

Our Craftsmanship
Selection & Fermentation
Leaves are graded after fermentation and chosen according to performance as filler, binder, or wrapper. The long-filler format preserves combustion, complexity, and a cleaner progression of flavor compared to short-fill constructions.
Our teams maintain traditional methods—slow rolling, careful bunching, and disciplined draw control—supported by modern storage and batch consistency.
Style & Character
Quitéria cigars are designed to be aromatic and well-balanced, with a profile often compared to Dominican-style refinement—yet defined by the distinct spice and sweetness of Bahia’s Mata Fina terroir.

Many international blends rely on Brazilian Mata Fina and Sumatra-Bahia seed leaves to add unique aromatic signature and sweetness.

Taglines (optional):
“Where Tradition Becomes Flavor.”
“Bahia’s Finest Tobacco. Crafted by Hand.”
“Crafted with character. Inspired by history.”
Tradition & Identity
Beyond tobacco, the Recôncavo is defined by music, cuisine, and Afro-Brazilian heritage. This cultural density shapes the identity of Quitéria: authentic, bold, and grounded in place.
The best cigars begin with the best leaf—cultivated with the right balance of sun and rain, correctly fertilized, and processed patiently, season after season.

About Us
behind Bahia’s most aromatic cigars

We are a small cigar manufacturing co-operative located on the “Reconcâvo Baiano” (Coastal region of the state of Bahia-Brazil).
Ex-employees of “Suerdieck” descendants of the first European immigrants, who came to Brazil in the twenties to plant tobacco amongst us, founded the co-operative.
Today, the fourth generation continues preserving the traditions of cultivating, filler and handmade the “most pure” cigar.
Maria Quitéria, who came from the “Reconcâvo”, is the Patron Saint of the Brazilian Army. Dom Pedro I (the Brazilian’s emperor) awarded her with the title “Cavaleiro da Ordem Imperial do Cruzeiro” in recognition of her bravery and courage in her fight against her country’s enemies. She is dearly loved and idolised by the local people.
Our homage to Maria Quitéria has resulted in a cigar made from the most fragrant tobacco with the characteristics of her strength, courage, and personality without losing, however, he finesse and femininity of such a unique woman.
